Email Notification Settings
Get notified about your link activity by setting up email notifications through your DocSend account. Notifications can be configured separately along each user within the same account. To set up your email notifications, visit the notifications settings page.
Here is a list of email notifications that can be enabled/disabled
- As visits occur
- When disabled links are opened
- As invites are accepted
- Daily digest
- Weekly team update email Digest
- When a viewer attempts to access with an unauthorized email (Advanced)
- Disable email notifications
This notification setting will enable you to address the visit as it occurs. See below for the information included in the notification:
- Visitor Identity: Device used, geolocation.
- Content Viewed: How much of the document the visitor viewed (%)
- Time Spent: Quick snapshot of the time spent on the document. Please note, the visit may still be ongoing, so please review the document details in the content section for more accurate visit information.
When disabled links are opened:
This notification can be enabled as a way for users to gauge interest in their disabled content and re-enable it at their discretion. Visitors attempting to access the disabled link will not be able to see the content and will not have any visitor information captured. See below for the information included in the notification:
- Visitors will be shown as anonymous since no visit occurred and no information was captured.
- Document name and link
- Link to re-enable link, ‘Reenable it here’
You will receive a notification when your invite is accepted. This notification can help you:
- Manage your billing settings.
- Manage your team members through the user settings page
Daily summary of all visit activity that occurred into a single notification. This can help you stay up to date without having to receive multiple email notifications as visits occur. The digest will include:
- Number of visits: The number of cumulative visits received a day
- Average % completion: Cumulative average of how much of the document(s) visitor(s) viewed (%)
- Visit Recap:
- Visitor: Contact accessing the document
- Content: Name of the document
- Completion: How much of the document the visitor viewed (%)
- Duration: Time spent viewing the document
Weekly team update email Digest:
Weekly summary of all the visit activity that occurred. For minimal email notifications, this is an ideal option. The digest will include the following:
- Busiest day: highlights the day(s) out of the week you received the most visits.
- Visit Recap: Outline of recent visitors and recently visited content.
- Date: The day the visitor visited the document
- Visitor: Contact accessing the document
- Content: Name of the document
- Completion: How much of the document the visitor viewed (%)
- Duration: Time spent viewing the document
- News from your team:
- Content updates: Existing content that was updated over the past week
- Most used content: Content with the most links created
- Most visited content: Content that received the most visits
When a viewer attempts to access with an unauthorized email (Advanced):
This notification is meant (1) to notify users of unauthorized visitors and (2) for users to allow visitors access to a document. For more information on how to enable this feature, visit our help center article, Allowed Viewers. See below for the information included in the notification:
- Document link and name
- Option to allow an unauthorized visitor to access the document
- Go to your Settings page
- Navigate to the Notifications section under the Personal tab
- Disable or enable notifications
- Select "Save Changes"
