Spaces are our virtual data rooms (VDRs). You can create a Space from the Spaces page or from files or folders on the Content page. Each account can have its own Space, or you can create multiple links to the same Space for flexible content sharing. The Spaces tab shows an overview of your Spaces, while selecting Team spaces from the dropdown displays all Spaces created by your team
Create a new Space
To create a new Space:
- Log in to docsend.com.
- Click Spaces in the left sidebar.
- Click Create your own Space or choose a template to get started.
By default, the Space title is “Untitled”. You can edit this by clicking the title to create your own. You can also add a subtitle in the same way.

Create a Space from Content library
There are multiple ways to create a Space directly from Content library.

Important: When subscribed to the Standard plan, you can only select content, not folders.

To create a new Space from Content Library:
- Log in to docsend.com.
- Click Content library.
- Select the folder you want to use to create a Space.
- Click Share in the upper middle.
- Configure your preferred link settings.
- Click Create link.
- You can now copy and paste your link to start sharing.
Youll be taken to your newly created Space.
| Note: To share updated content with your visitor, simply add the new files to the existing Space that was created when you shared the folder link. |
Create Spaces from folders
Alternatively, you can create a Space from uploaded folders on the Content library page, making it even easier to create a Space and manage existing content.
To create a Space from a folder:
- Click Content library.
- Click
(more options). - Click Share as Space.
- Configure your preferred link settings.
- Click Create link.
- You’ll be taken to your newly created Space.
- Click Copy link to share your new Space.
| Important: On the Standard plan, you can create Spaces from folders with subfolders, but the subfolders won’t be included. To use Space folders, you’ll need to upgrade to an Advanced plan. |
Space links and settings
Once your Space is configured and ready to share, creating a link is just as simple.
To create a Space link using Share within a selected Space:
- Click Spaces in the left sidebar.
- Click the name of the Space you want to share.

Click Share in the upper-right corner.
- Click Create link.
- Configure your preferred link settings.
- Click Copy link to share the Space link.
To create a space link within the Spaces tab:
- Click the Space you want to create a link for.

Click Share.
- Click Create link.
- Configure your preferred link settings.
- Click Copy link to share.
Link settings
Similar to content links, you can edit the settings on a Space link any time.
- Click the name of the Space you want to change link settings for.
- Click Share.

Click the edit icon.
- Configure your link settings.
Your changes will be saved automatically.

Space visits
Visits to a Space are only tracked on the document level. When a visitor opens a Space and views a document, the visit is logged on the document and attributed to the Space. Space visits are also owned by the Space owner.
To see all visits to documents in a Space:
- Click on the name of the Space you want to see visitor data for.
- Click Analytics in the left sidebar.
If you want to see who visited the Space but didn’t look at the content:
- Click on the name of the Space you want to see visitor data for.
- Click Audit log.
- Click Users to filter a specific person’s activity.
- Click Download to export the data.
