Overview
Spreadsheets created in Excel, Numbers, and Google Sheets (E.g., .xls, .xlsx, .numbers, .csv) can be uploaded to DocSend as download-only content. You can upload a spreadsheet and create a link to send to your visitors, and they’ll be prompted to download the file in order to view it. For more information, please see Download-only Content
Visitor Experience
When a visitor opens a link to a spreadsheet in DocSend, they’ll be prompted to download the spreadsheet.
In-app Experience
If you have visit notifications enabled, you’ll receive a notification whenever a visitor opens a spreadsheet link. If the visitor downloads the spreadsheet, you’ll see this on the document detail page delineated with a download icon.
Things to Consider
- By default, the “Allow downloading” link setting will always be enabled for spreadsheet links.
- Spreadsheets can only be updated to a new version that’s also a spreadsheet; they cannot be updated to a different file type (E.g., .pdf, .docx, .pptx).
- Spreadsheets in Spaces will always be downloadable, even if “Allow downloading” is disabled for the Space.
